Seasons: Earth Rotation and Revolution Minibook and foldables
The Earth: Just Keep Spinning-Interactive Minibook-Students will read about the Earth’s rotation on its axis and its revolution around the Sun, as well as how shadows happen. Students can read independently, with a partner, in a small group, or as a whole class. A short quiz is on the back of the book, as well as a quick word search for early finishers.
Science Journal Vocabulary Foldable- Students will create a foldable using the vocabulary words from the mini-book about the Earth’s rotation and revolution. Vocabulary covered: orbit, revolution, rotate, axis, equator, cast
Draw and Write- Students will illustrate, color and write about the Earth. Students can write a fiction story about the Earth (like a myth on why the Earth is tilted), or a non-fiction passage using facts from the minibook or other resources. This makes a great assessment.
Diagram Foldable- Students will color the picture of the Earth as it revolves around the Sun. Then they will cut and label the different seasons. This fits perfectly into interactive notebooks. This also makes a great assessment.
