Unit 3 Lesson 13
Letter Tiles Activity
2 activities- on level and challenge
There are 2 versions of each activity. One is where the student page is copied on cardstock (I use yellow or orange at my school) with letter tiles below for students to cut out. The other version saves cardstock and is where you print only the letter tiles on cardstock and the student page can be copy paper. If you have classroom letter tiles, then the 2nd version would be good for you!
This is a whole group activity where I guide my students at the front on the overhead or at the document camera. I watch to make sure all students make the word, then I call them to write the word and we move on. This is one of the few weekly activities where EVERY student is successful. Students enjoy using the tiles to spell and write their own words on the backside of the work page.
This is a super routine activity! Plan letter tile work for a day during your week and it makes planning easy! The hands-on aspect involves and engages students in their learning!
