This weekly lesson plan goes along with the common core curriculum map for 2nd grade: Seasons. This is a study of Haiku Poems. It is the FIFTH week in my Season Unit.

In this weekly lesson plan, students will be analyzing poems to determine if the poem meets the Haiku criteria. They will determine the season and main idea of each poem. In addition, they will be writing Haiku poems in small groups and independently. At the end of the week, they will take a Haiku Poetry test.
