I was inspired to create this seating survey by this blog post: http://momastery.com/blog/2014/01/30/share-schools/ (She talks about identifying lonely children that never get selected or are left out, as a way to deter bullying.) I do this seating survey once a month (before I change seats) to help get a pulse of the classroom community and social structure. Kids pick 3 kids they want to sit near, while recognizing one role model child. They fill out the survey and I collect them. I may or may not honor requests, but it gives me insight into the dynamics of the class each month. I’ve included two versions, one with names and one that is anonymous, depending on your needs.
