Instruction Power Point #1 is an 11 slide Power Point Presentation. The 4 key concepts of secant/cosecant graphs are discussed. These concepts are:

1. Local Maximums

2. Local Minimums

3. Asymptotes with a local min on its left and a local max on its right

4. Asymptotes with a local max on its left and a local min on its right

Instructional Power Point #2 is 28 slides and it relates y=secx to the following:

1. y=-2+secx

2. y=2secx

3. y=sec2x

4. y=sec(x-50)

Computer models of y=secx and the above transformations are used to illustrate the transformations.

Power Point Assignment #1 is 24 questions. The student is given 4 graphs and has to identify the following for each graph:

1. The vertical shift

2. The vertical stretch

3. The period

4. The horizontal stretch factor

5. The phase angle if a transformation of y=secx

6. The phase angle if a transformation of y=cscx

It is on 1 page for easy printing.
