This diagnostic assessment focuses on the National Health Education Standard of analyzing influences. Students first watch a documentary in which four bullied teens discuss their struggles of growing up and are given the opportunity to receive free plastic surgery to fix their appearances. The video touches on the American societal standards of beauty, bullying and mental health, and the ethics of American culture. After watching the documentary, students analyze the influences of internal and external factors on one character in the form of a written reflection. This assessment provides everything: a link to the video, written instructions to students and a grading rubric.
