These cards are a great way to practice speaking and conversation about hypothetical situations using the second conditional tense. Intermediate ESL and EFL students will benefit from two types of discussion prompt cards included in this speaking skills activity set:

  • Questions using the second conditional tense (if + past tense + would + base verb)
  • Fill-in sentences (students must complete the sentence with their answer.

Try to encourage your students to explain themselves and give a reason for their answer to further elicit grammar and vocabulary.
