This Daily Math Review has been a life saver in my classroom! This is a very effective way to introduce & assess a variety of skills.
This Daily Math Review follows the Common Core Standards for Second Grade Math. It can also be used in Third Grade as a review for many skills. I have Weeks 1-10 and 11-20 created. The final set, Weeks 21-35 will be ready within the month.
Each morning, the students complete the row for the day, folding the paper back as the week goes on. From Monday-Thursday, we go over together & I let the students check their own work. During checking time, they are only allowed to have a green & red marker or crayon on their desk. The small boxes inside of the larger boxes is for the students to “self-check”. If they had the problem correct that day, they color the box green. If the problem was incorrect, they color the box red and must re-do the problem.
On Fridays, I collect the Daily Math Review to assess. I can take a quick assessment for each student by looking at their colors. For example, if Johnny has all red boxes under counting money, I can immediately red flag him for intervention. This also helps the parents to see certain problem areas and what we are currently working on in the classroom.
Please see my preview (in the first set) for an example of a DMR and pictures to show them in use.
Any feedback on what you would like to see more/less of is greatly appreciated! I want these to be as valuable to you in your classroom as they are to me.
