-Directions: students choose 3 characters from the story; draw a picture depicting their emotions, and use describing words to match the character’s emotions

4. Character Response
-Directions: students draw a picture of a character and write sentences describing the character

5. Conference Form
-Directions: the teacher uses this form as conferencing rubric to evaluate students’ retelling and read aloud skills
