Math - Students measure "worms," order them, and compare lengths.
5) Diary of a Worm - Comic Strip:
Art - Students create a comic strip about a bug of their choice.
6) Diary of a Worm - Diary of Your Day:
Writing - Students write a diary entry to describe their day.
7) Ira Sleeps Over - Worrisome Writing:
Writing - Students write about a time when they worried about something for no reason at all!
8) Ira Sleeps Over - Making Observations:
Science - Students use magnifying glasses to observe objects in detail.
9) Ira Sleeps Over - Places I've Slept:
Art - Students create a collage to show the funniest, scariest, darkest, and best places they've ever slept!
10) Ira Sleeps Over - Compound Words:
Language - Students practice finding and creating compound words.
11) Ira Sleeps Over - Sequencing Events:
Reading - Students sort and sequence events from the story.
12) Ira Sleeps Over - Problem Solving:
Math - Students solve and write word problems related to the story.
13) Flotsam - Camera in Forest:
Writing - Students write about finding a camera in the forest and what might be on it.
14) Flotsam - Sea Animals Problem Solving:
Math - Students play a problem solving game. (3 levels of difficulty)
15) Flotsam - Sea Animals Minibook:
Reading - Students assemble and read a minibook, and then record new facts they learned.
16) Flotsam - Sequencing Events:
Reading - Students cut and sort events from the story.
17) Flotsam - Making Words:
Language - Students manipulate letters from the word "flotsam" to make new words.
18) Flotsam - Sink or Float:
Science - Students explore various objects to determine if they will sink or float.
