PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Included in this file are activities that correspond with the Second Grade Journeys Lesson 1: Henry and Mudge.

1. Words of the Week--I copy this resource onto the back of my weekly newsletters so that my students and their families always know the spelling words, vocabulary words, and high frequency words we are working on during the week.

2. Spelling homework---I send this home on Mondays and it is due by Fridays. There are 3 differentiated activities for students to choose from in order to complete the homework. Copy this back to back with the included worksheet.

3. Back of spelling homework---This lists the spelling words once again so students don't have to flip back and forth to see the words.

4. SCOOT game to practice "Subjects and Predicates". I'm not talented enough (yet) to add cutesy clip art, but SCOOT is a fun game regardless! Cut out the sentence cards and randomly place on students' desks. Copy a "SCOOT" recording sheet for each student. Student matches the number on the sentence card to the number in the box on their sheet and write an S or a P, telling which part of the sentence on the card is underlined. (Subject or Predicate)
