At my school we are currently using a standards-based report card based on Common Core Standards. In second grade, I teach irregular past-tense verbs, and using context clues (prefixes, sentence level, clue words, etc.) For this package, I included a few practice sheets, a small poster, and a two-page assessment.
The skills that are addressed include prefixes (re-, un-, mis-, dis-, and pre-). We have also learned to look for definitions within context using the clue words: is, are, is called, means, and or.
The assessments include a chance for students to use the skill in context.
These sheets have been a good way to communicate with my parents.
I hope you find this useful!
