These stories will help your students build their vocabulary and improve their reading comprehension while learning interesting facts.
The books are grouped into various collections. Second grade level L is divided into three sets. This set of leveled readers (L - Set 1) includes 7 books: What is Kindness? (dictionary and glossary work); Ads (prefix and suffix work); Antonyms and Synonyms; Cubes (Alike or Different?); Healthy Foods for your Teeth; John Hancock (use of pronouns); and Living or Non-living (classification).
Each book comes with accompanying worksheets which reinforce literacy skills involving reading, language, spelling, and writing. Specific concepts, skills, and vocabulary targeted in each book are listed on the first page of each story.
This original series of leveled books is written to incorporate the Fountas and Pinnell leveled vocabulary, Rebecca Sitton spelling words, and common core curriculum standards for grades K-6 in the United States.
There are 20 books (combination of fiction and non-fiction) per level A-U (Kindergarten through 5th grade reading) for a total of 420 books. There are 8 books per level V-Y (6th grade reading) for a total of 32 more books.
