This is the second unit of my Second Grade Social Studies Interactive Notebook Series. This unit covers History standards including:
-What are Artifacts?
-Where to Find and See Artifacts
-Types of Artifacts
-Primary and Secondary Sources
-Using Primary and Secondary Sources to look at historical events
-Comparing and Contrasting a historical Events perspective based on a source
-Important Community Members
-Annual Community Events
-Comparing and Contrasting Events in your community from the past and today
-Life Then and Now
Each topic has and interactive notebook page for students to create and take notes on during lessons.
Since Second Grade Social Studies History has a lot to do with community history I created this based on where I live, Colorado Springs. However, any lesson that addresses Colorado Springs history comes with blank templates for you to fill in with information about your community. Most of the foldables are sized for a spiral notebook but you could shrink them on a copier if you prefer composition notebooks. I've provided appropriate sized covers for both types of notebooks. You can download the free visual guide in my store if you are unfamilar with foldables.
