This lesson is based off of the Second Grade Math Common Core State Standards (2.OA.1, 2.NBT.5). The work is differentiated by student levels (meeting, exceeding and approaching). The first letter of the level is written on the top of the page. Each worksheet is scaffolded to assist students in solving the problems correctly. Each level has a challenge problem at the end to really push higher level thinking. Many of the questions have two part questions where the student needs to explain his/her thinking. This is due to the push for students to explain their thinking using the common core mathematical vocabulary words.
