This whole year second year curriculum teaches students all the concepts they are expected to learn in their second year of Orff experiences. There are 8 units, all of which are sold individually, but are bundled here.
This very beginning of the year second grade BEAR unit is a continuation from the end of our First Year Orff Exploration
. This unit focuses on the concept of dynamics, half rest and composing. Students will take the rhythms that they have learned and compose their own bear piece along with pretending to be bears!
This unit teaches about half notes, dynamics, crescendo and decrescendo. Using a train theme, students will sing, move and play with the concepts in the lessons.
This unit, uses the theme of rain to teach la, tonal center and dynamics.
This unit teaches or reviews so, mi, la and do. Using an apple theme, students will sing, say, move and play with apple songs to teach the concepts.
This unit uses the theme of leaves to help students understand form, review tonal center and know so mi and do.
This unit teaches mi, re and do using the theme of frogs. Students will be playing instruments, learning about 2/4 time signature, conducting, half note, half rest, and canon.
This unit teaches whole note and whole rest. Using a boat theme, students will dance, conduct, sing in canon, learn about 4/4 time, and play instruments with the concepts in the lessons. Intervention activities for the differently abled are also included.
This review unit reviews all the concepts in the second grade curriculum. Students will take a musical field trip in music class to the zoo.
