How Does It Work?
This set uses Phonics Codes~, meaning that students identify the first letter of each small icon to decode a secret sentence.
There are a lot of skills packed into one page:
- identify first letter of each icon to decode the secret sentence
- write the letters below the icons
- write the whole sentences on the lines neatly
- read aloud to a friend who signs his/her name for accountability
- draw a picture to show comprehension
- use the checklist to self-edit
