Secrets of Subzero Survival: Antarctica - Science Worksheet Printable or Google

The Antarctic is a place of mystery for many, with few humans ever setting foot on the seventh and least explored continent. Still, scientists are determined to learn all they can about this mysterious (and chilly) place at the bottom of the globe. Follow a team of scientists to get a taste of what research teams face as they explore the often-subzero environment in Antarctica. Though humans are few, there are some examples of wildlife in this white wonderland, including fish who are uniquely adapted to survive in the freezing waters.

Suggested Teaching Methods:

1. Pair students to watch and answer questions together.

2. Watch the video as a class, then assign questions as a follow-up activity.

3. Assign each student a question(s) to answer and share.

4. Use as a lesson plan for a substitute teacher.
