This crossword puzzle is perfect for middle school earth science.
It can be printed front & back to fit 2 per page to save paper :)
You can also just print on one side to have students glue the puzzle and the clues into an interactive notebook. This will fit in composition notebooks.
There are 11 words related to sedimentary rocks to fill in the puzzle. To determine the words, the students will fill in the blanks for the 11 clues. For example, "Down - 5. The process of breaking down rocks by chemical or physical means is called ________________." Students will fill in the word "weathering" in the blank and in the puzzle. This allows students to self check their work. If the word does not fit in the crossword puzzle then they may have filled in an incorrect word.
If your students need more support, you can provide a word bank. I have provided an answer key and you can pull the words from there. I have also provided an answer key for the crossword puzzle so you don't have to fill it in yourselves :)
** If you have already purchased the word search – the clues are the same **
