(12 pages) Similar to part 1, but with more specimen images, this is a cooperative learning activity in which students work in pairs and identify common sedimentary rocks. Four images of sedimentary rocks are shown on each of 16 station cards. Student pairs note distinguishing characteristics for each rock sample image (ex. large, unrounded fragments) and then guess the rock's name (ex. breccia). An answer sheet is included so that students can check for understanding.
