Vocabulary is an important part of any student’s academic career. It impacts writing and reading. However, it shouldn’t be a drag for students to learn. Why not allow them to learn vocabulary while they play a game that they also like? The following is a vocabulary review game that your students will love.
This game has 45 vocabulary words. You can either hand-out the vocabulary cards or you can have the students pull the cards from a bag. Students are then asked to be able to say their vocabulary word. Next, they are asked to give a definition for the word. Finally, the students are asked to make a real-world connection with the word.
The definitions to these words have not been provided.
I recommend printing these cards off on cardstock and laminating them. Then, hand them out to your students. You can use a timer and set a limit on the amount of time they have to answer or you can simply allow your students to answer at their own pace. Either way, your students will have fun while reviewing their vocabulary words.
