A simple inquiry activity where students carry out an experiment using the scientific method to determine if light is necessary for seeds to germinate. Two versions of the procedure are described: one using soil and one without. The materials, procedure, and result table are provided for students to place into their science notebooks. These seeds germinate very rapidly so you will have results within a week!
