Students will use the scientific method to answer the question:
Does the color of bell pepper affect the number of seeds inside?
Students will create a hypothesis, count and graph their data, and write a conclusion. Students and teachers will be amazed at the number of seeds inside a pepper. Along with exploring peppers students will gain an understanding that flower pollination produces fruits and seeds. They will also understand that different colored bell peppers come from the same plant. They are at different levels of maturity.
The activity meets the K-2nd Grade *Next Generation Science Standards Science and Engineering Practices and 2nd Grade Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics
