Give your students the joy of growing their own garden in a scale model as you read Seedfolks, while analyzing setting and character.

This project is designed to run alongside the reading of the book. Students find textual evidence of the setting and characters of the book and then build their own models of the lot. Even better, they get to grow and measure their own seeds as part of the model.

Topics covered through use of the text and activities:

  • A measurement page for measuring the student plants.
  • A guide to running the project.

You will need access to the book Seedfolks in order to use this. Also students will need to provide their own boxes and creativity. If you want to grow the seeds, then you will need to provide, seeds, soil and pots (these are not expensive).
