Description

Ferns are an important link between primitive plants like moss and modern flowering species. In this lesson students will explore traits of seedless vascular plants and how vascular tissue helped these organisms thrive in the forest undergrowth. New to this package is a Google Doodle Video activity explaining the complex life cycle of a fern. During the lesson, students can watch a recorded lesson online, or follow along with the teacher using our editable lesson presentation. The Cornell style incomplete notes guide student’s attention and allow them to summarize their learning. Included are both print and online resources to make this lesson work in the classroom or at home. The Google Interactives give students a quick and easy way to review the lesson content. Links to a Quizizz practice assessment are included. This lesson is designed and tested for a mainstreamed middle school science classroom of 24 students meeting daily for 40 minutes. The teacher will find lesson materials for direct instruction, reinforcement and homework.
