The Seedling Cube is the perfect size for starting seedlings in rockwool. Rockwool can be messy to handle and can irritate the skin. The Seedling Cube reduces the need for students to handle the rockwool while planting and caring for seedlings. It also makes it easy to put masking tape on the side of the Cube to record what's growing, the date the seeds were planted, etc.
Once the seedlings are large enough to place in a Tower Garden or plant in the ground, just push the rockwool out from the bottom.
The Cube is designed to hold rockwool that's 1.5 inches square, which is the size of the rockwool that comes with a Tower Garden
and the size that's available on Amazon under Grodan A-OK 36/40 1.5 Inch Starter Plugs
. The tray that comes with a Tower Garden will fit 15 Seedling Cubes. Parkseed.com has a container that will nicely hold 24 Cubes. It's the medium Perma-Nest Plant Tray
Item #96373. (Pictured in the thumbnail.)
