This PowerPoint covers the three different types of seismic waves produced by earthquakes. It also suggests on how students can demonstrate the different types of waves with a slinky. Words defined and illustrated are focus, epicenter, primary (P) waves, secondary (S) waves, surface waves, love waves, Rayleigh waves, liquefaction, seismograph, and Richter scale. Included is a slide with suggested videos to accompany the lesson.
I use the PowerPoint with a note-taking guide that students fill out while viewing that may be purchases separately. I find that it helps keep the students engaged in learning.
