This product is designed to help strengthen the student's knowledge of the selection vocabulary from the story The Man Who Invented Basketball in the Pearson Reading Street Series Third Grade. The activity has the words color coded to show prefixes and suffixes. It also gives the word in a sentence, has the students write the definition, draw an illustration, find a synonym and antonym, connect with the word from prior knowledge, and use the word in their own sentence. It can be used by giving students an individual sheet or giving a group two or more of the vocabulary words. Post them in your room when they are complete to help strengthen student’s knowledge of the selection vocabulary. This activity is designed to align with Common Core Language standards. This packet has a new element to it! We have added pages at the end for students to write their own definitions for the vocabulary they have learned in this selection. Its a nice way to see how much the students have learned and allow them to write the definitions in their own words.
