Being able to understand and explain their cochlear implants is a important skill for children with hearing loss. This booklet introduces how cochlear implants work, introduces basic troubleshooting, and helps kids become more comfortable explaining their devices to others.
Please note: due to nature of illustrations, the book is ONLY available in color. The rest of the sheets are available in black and white.
Side note on equipment: There are many different types of cochlear implants. This book depicts a behind the ear model. This book is not about any specific technology, rather it is meant as a starting point for discussing strategies and situations that apply to many cochlear implants. Even students who do not use the BTE model can benefit from discussed how their CI is similar or different than the BTE model depicted in this book.
