Giving students time to reflect on their learning is important. The end of the school year is a good time for reflection and goal setting. This activity self assessment allows students the opportunity to state their feelings about particular areas of the school curriculum and how they think they're travelling. They circle the face that relates to them most.
Once completed, the teacher can check in with students if they're concerned about any of the students' self-ratings. Together then can set realistic goals and discuss why they're feeling the way they are.
The bottom section gives the the teacher a good indication of children who aren't being selected as 'good to work or play with'. The teacher can then help those children socially and emotionally.
This self assessment also makes for good conversation during Parent Teacher Interviews.
