These self-assessment rubrics can be used in two situations: after writing, and after group discussions (or presentations-noted on table of contents). Please see preview for table of contents, and examples of rubrics included to see if this product will work for you.
The rubrics are based on the following CCSS for grades 11-12:
Literature 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Speaking and Listening 1, 1a 1c, 1d, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
The writing rubrics also cover Writing standards, including, but not limited to: 1, 2, 4, 9; they also cover a few Language standards, including 3, 4, and 5.
I really enjoy using these with students, because often they are honest about themselves in these situations, and it can effectively help us work with them to improve where they feel it is needed.
I usually have students attach these rubrics to their work before turning in, and if used in a discussion group, they can turn in their notes with the rubric attached or just the rubric for your own use (creating different groups based on strengths and weaknesses, for example).
Each rubric has a title, and the standard listed on the bottom, so you can easily align your materials. There are two (or three) rubrics per page, so you can make fewer copies!
Depending on the focus of your units throughout the year, you may also find some of these work for grades 9-10.
My best to you as you use these in your classes,
Teacher in the Rye
