This is a Work Sheet but may also be used as Discussion Starter Questions as an interview or in a group format. It is designed to use with the poem PALMETTO PERSEVERES (FREEBIE-Available in this store) but the questions will be helpful without the poem. Palmetto is a little sapling Palm Tree who encounters his first storm. Palm Trees survive storms by being flexible and bending with the wind until they flatten on the ground. When the storm is over they bounce back up-a survivor. This is especially good for those times when we have to deal with the bullies of life- like illness, death, loss, tragedies, and storms. These are heavy subjects but the poem is light and humorous and appropriate even for the very young. This work sheet is appropriate for any age from early childhood to adult and may be completed without assistance so could be added to home work packets for independent work for older students. Younger students will enjoy the questions in a discussion format.
