This product introduces and reviews the behavioral component of self control.
The lesson begins with brainstorming what self control means, what does it look like, what does it sound like, and how can self control be shown throughout the school day using a graphic organizer.
Students are then asked to be paired into partner groups for a self control sort game called "thumbs up or thumbs down". 16 age appropriate self control scenarios are given.
Students are asked to discuss each scenarios and decide if self control is being shown. If self control is not being shown the students are prompted to think and discuss how COULD they show self control in that scenario. A graphic organizer is included for students to record their thinking.
The lesson wraps up with a writing prompt.
