Use this free learning progression to guide your students as they become more self-directed. This growth-mindset-friendly progression helps your students to evaluate their academic habits, their problem-solving capabilities, and their classroom citizenship/behavior.
This can be made into a classroom poster that the whole class refers to and also be used as a quick assessment of your class.
Since I am a big believer in Responsive Classroom, one version of the rubric includes "CARES" (cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy, and self control), and one includes "good classroom citizenship."
