This two-page Reading Habits Self-Help Test is designed to demonstrate the skills that are important to being a good reader in grades 1 & 2 while encouraging conscious attention to them.

It has often been used as a group exercise with discussion of each statement as the test-takers assess themselves individually and honestly.

For most students, reading the test to them and discussing each statement might be most effective.

After completing the test, they are asked to develop an improvement statement based on their own honest evaluation of their reading habits.
