For many years, teachers have used self portaits as a means to assess a child's creative development. This journal was created to take the typical self portait a step farther. Each page (one per month, as well as a few that are not specified by month) has space for name and date as well as a set of directions for that particular portrait. The rest of the page is devoted to the child's self portrait.
The cover shows a few of the steps along creative devopment in drawing one's self. This is a great portfolio piece for state mandated files. It also serves as a great example to show the parents when talking about creative devopment.
This was specifically created for 3 and 4 year old preschoolers, but has much relevance in grades K-2 as well!
