This interactive activity is the perfect resource for any students who have difficulty with self-regulation/coping strategies.

The daily journal/interactive notebook can be used for individual students or for whole classrooms. Each student can get their own notebook.

The class can introduce The Zones of Regulation together, following the informational lessons included in the notebooks and then students can fill in their own activities and daily journals and tracking sheets to personalize it to their unique needs.

Things included in this Resource:

Students first write their name on their cover page and color it to their liking.

Students will then be introduced to The Zones of Regulation

Students then are introduced to self-regulation

Asked to identify situations that may upset them

Identification of behaviors that are inapporpraite to act on

Informed that we are allowed to feel every emotion, but we have to react apporpraitely.

Students are given a large visual list of coping strategies

Students Identify 4 self-regulation strategies they feel comfortable implementing

Students make a plan how to implement their strategies

Students are provided daily check-in sheets where they can reflect on how they felt that day, and whether they apporpraitely used their self-regulation strategies to facilitate greater generalization and self-monitoring of these skills.

Students are provided daily journaling sheets where they can reflect on their overall feelings that day, what may have upset them and how they handled it.
