This self-regulation resource explains self-regulation while externalizing the student's feelings to a chameleon. Separating their feelings from their identity is easier for younger students to understand and helps them to feel more in control of their emotions and actions. This resource would be a great complement to lessons about the Zones of Regulation by Leah Kuypers.
Just as the chameleon's colors change, our feelings and actions change depending on which zone we are in. (Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red)
Students will learn which feelings and actions are associated with each Zone and will receive suggestions for how to regulate their emotions.
The worksheet component helps students apply the information to their daily life by reflecting on recent situations.
