Teach Emotional Regulation, a tool needed to be successful in school and in life. Use these products as an adjunct to any self-regulation/behavior/social curriculum (ZONEs of regulation™, SEL™, PBIS™, How Does Your Engine Run™...) for fun ways to review and master the material. Included in this product are a write the room, as well as, two sorting activities. Students should be encouraged to discuss how the situations affect the person involved and those around them.
The write the room is both a handwriting lesson and self-regulation review in one. Cut out and laminate the word cards and make multiple copies of the worksheets. “Hide” the emotion cards throughout the room. Have students place their worksheet on a clip board and wander the space to find the words. When recording the words students must sort them into different sections of their worksheet. Have them explain how they are the same or different. Have them give examples of what each emotion looks like, or what may have happened to cause a person to feel that particular emotion. How would others feel about seeing a person exhibiting that emotion? Did it surprise you? What could they do to change their state of emotion, if necessary? Also included are situation cards that can be sorted on the sheets provided, sort into States or Zones depending on the program you use.. You can also have students sort the emotion cards onto these sheets as well. High ink and ink saver options included.
