Description
Do you use Seesaw in your classroom? These 16 fun Selfie Challenges will have your students up and moving, introducing themselves to new friends, reviewing procedures, and learning about staff members at your school site with minimal prep!
Make sure to check out the the Seesaw Challenges Bundle and save!
These challenges are perfect for the beginning of the school year when you are introducing rules, procedures, and staff members at your school site. They can also be used in the middle of the school year, or they can be used just for fun anytime.
The only reason I call them “Challenges” is because it seems to be motivating for students when we can them challenges. ;) They are basically 16 tasks, or activities that the students can complete within Seesaw.
There are 16 challenges included in this pack, and everything you need to get your students going first thing tomorrow morning with minimal prep! Just print the challenges and hang or display them for your students and you’re good to go! There is a checklist included as well, so students can keep track of which Selfie Challenges they have completed (in case they don’t complete them in order). All Challenges will have students use the Camera tool in Seesaw. Some Challenges will also have the students use the Label, Recording, or Caption tools as well.
I love to print and hang the challenges around the classroom and allow students to work through them at their own pace, in any order like a scoot activity. Students upload their completed challenges to their Seesaw Journal as they complete them. Don’t forget to create a folder for each challenge in Seesaw to keep them organized when you’re ready to view them. The challenges can also be used as early finisher activities, or even center activities!
Challenges in this pack include:
Take a selfie with your teacher
Take a selfie with an old friend
Take a selfie with a new friend
Take a selfie with a group of friends
Take a selfie where your class lines up
Take a selfie with the librarian
Take a selfie with your favorite book from the library
Take a selfie with the school nurse
Take a selfie with an office staff member
Take a selfie where you hang your backpack/keep your supplies each day
Take a selfie outside of the restroom our class uses
Take a selfie on the playground and explain a playground rule
Take a selfie with the principal
Take a selfie with a cafeteria worker
Take a selfie with the janitor
Take a silly selfie
Please note - These challenges are not simply “paperless” worksheet activities. My goal is to help teachers rethinking the tasks and learning we ask our students to do in our classrooms. These challenges give students a chance to create, take responsibility for their learning through choice, and critical think within Seesaw - not simply complete a worksheet on a device. This requires flexibility on the teacher’s part and trust in your students. Many of these challenges allow students to make their thinking visible, which is always the goal when using devices in the classroom.
