Although I developed this resource to use as a summary activity for the film, it could also be used after students have completed a unit of study on the civil rights movement or the marches. To see the grid, download the preview file. This is the solution to the puzzle.
This resource/activity could be used as an in-class assignment or as homework, to help revision, etc. It is an exercise that works well for group/pair work.
I've specifically written the clues to help students learn/remember key facts by including a lot of detail. In this way, it's not just a time filler.. it's an active learning tool.
I'm using a one page format for the crossword - students seem to find it easier to complete the task when the clues and grid (and word bank) are on a single page. This also cuts down on photocopying/printing costs.
