Senet is the oldest known board game in the history of the world. It is at least 5,500 years old and can be seen on the walls of the tombs and pyramids of the rulers of Ancient Egyptian pharaohs. The game also is mentioned in the Book of the Dead.

Several Senet boards have been found in various burial tombs of Egyptian pharaohs. The game board of THIS resource is a copy of the board found in Amenhotep III's tomb. It is VERY simple. The symbol on space 26 was included in the printable board but the purpose is unknown.

Remember, Senet is thousands of years old but there are no surviving game rules. Some of the rules were guessed because of the hieroglyphics found on the carved boards found in the tombs and pyramids but basically, the game rules are a complete guess.

Senet is SUPER fun and can be played by any age group. This is not a history lesson (because the history of the game is included in this product description) but is, instead, an add-on for your Ancient Egyptian units.
