This 22-page PowerPoint includes researched and balanced statistics on Censorship and Banned Books. The original intention for the presentation is for the Senior Final Exam Project that I sell on my site. Students hear a presentation, take notes, and apply the information to continue the research and write a persuasive essay. The presentation covers specific topics as: important vocabulary, who censors, why or why not to censor, data related to kinds of book themes that are censored, lists of certain books censored, first amendment interpretation and comments by Thomas Jefferson, relevant censorship cases throughout history, historical views on censorship, defining the concept of intellectual freedom, and Ray Bradbury's novel, "Fahrenheit 451." The presentation includes a Works Cited page. Please be fully aware that this presentation does not include every single detailed piece of information. The person who buys this will have to add more verbal detail and explanation while presenting. The Works Cited is included for reference, but, as is important with any PowerPoint presentation, the show summarizes key points. No matter how you use it, the presentation could lead to a fantastic discussion and essay assignment, such as picking a banned book and defending it, or using the presentation as a jumping board for a persuasive essay or research essay. Please consider also purchasing my Senior Final Exam Project that includes an essay question intended for this presentation. Thank you for your interest!
