This is a lab that helps the students understand the sense of taste.
Each group will need 4 cups, one of sugar water, lemon water, salt water and baking soda water.
In this activity the students will dip a swab in each of the different waters and put the swab on different areas of the tongue and detemine which area of the tongue is sensitive to that taste. They label a diagram of their tongue accordingly.
This lab walks them through the activity and has closing questions.
