This is a fun way for kids to get used to reading and writing using sensory language. It involves four centers each with two cheap and easy products:
The students are expected to use figurative language to express the senses associated with each product. There is built in scaffolding in a definition box to help those struggling students.
At the end of the lesson I like to provide time for the students to share their work, and as an assessment have the students go outside and write a short poem using sensory language.
Also included is a 5E comprehensive lesson plan that coordinates with the activity.
