At the conclusion of the first Harry Potter film, Dumbledore spies a box on the table while conversing with young Harry. It is a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. (A box was seen in an earlier scene on the train ride to Hogwarts). He is reticent to try one, he explains, as he ended up with one that tasted like _________. He was hoping for better luck, but his shrug of the shoulders and deadpan delivery of the words, "Alas. Ear Wax." could be a prelude to the activity that lies ahead.
This fun activity will involve sensory writing which includes a bell work activity: create a jelly bean flavor. Best used leading into a break, this taste test uses Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans of Harry Potter fame. Is it roasted marshmallow or is it soap? Is it tutti frutti? Or something worse?
Designed for groups of four, this activity is sure to leave your students with a smile on their faces leading into a break, and it will create a lasting memory, too. Check sheets are included, but jelly beans are not. Get your game face on!
