Purpose: To practice word order
Description: This activity may take students 5-10 minutes to complete. It may take teachers 4 minutes to grade.
Materials needed: Slips of paper
Background: Students must have received explicit grammar instruction regarding, “noun”, “verb”, or “adjectives.”
Directions: Pre-task - go over the diffrence between nouns, verbs, articles, and adjectives
Task - each student is given a couple small pieces of paper, on the back of the paper it says “noun”, “verb”, or “adjective”.
Students have to write a “noun”, “verb”, or “adjective” on the back of the paper. Then in groups on 8, students work together to build sentences.
