This product includes two separate sentence expansion activities that challenge growth in the areas of action verbs and pronouns.
Print and laminate pages 3-6. Once laminated, you may use coins or magnetic chips to cover each action verb picture while naming the action. First, test the child’s receptive language by asking him/her to listen and place a chip on the named action verb. Next, ask the child to repeat the phrase with the action verb as they cover each word/illustration with a chip. Ex) “He is playing” or “She is jumping.” Last, ask the child to state independently (as able) the action verb phrase.
Print and laminate pages 7-14. Once laminated, cut the action verb pictures and place velcro on the back. Place the matching velcro strip on the accompanying page. Ask the child to read or repeat the starter phrase “He is,” “She is,” “It is,” or “They are,” then state the action verb while placing the Velcro picture card on the designated blank square. While placing their picture card on the designated square, ask the child to repeat or independently state the illustrated phrase.
