These five sentence puzzles each use an alliteration emphasizing one of the vowel sounds. At its basic level, this activity is meant for first or second graders learning to read and write sentences. The printouts include word cards that are to be cut out individually and then pieced back together to make sentences. One word is capitalized and a period and commas are included to emphasize punctuation. Four versions of each sentence are given. (The students may come up with more!) Instructions for class, partner and individual activities are included.
This can be used as a basic sentence writing skill or for third graders to discuss subject and predicate.
I originally used this project for dyslexic first graders who needed to understand the logic behind writing sentences but also needed to review their letter sounds.
