Writing is an important part of our students’ everyday lives. It is also a skill that is assessed on most standardized tests. Students need to know how to compose paragraphs and essays. They also need to know how to revise those paragraphs and essays. However, they must first start with writing good sentences. They need to know when to add details and when to delete unnecessary details.
This pack includes 20 task cards that require the students to look a some short pieces of writing and make good editing decisions. The first 10 task cards ask your students to add more information while the last 10 cards ask students to eliminate unnecessary information.
An answer key sheet is provided, but your students can use their own paper to complete this assignment. Answers will vary with these activities, so no answer key is provided.
